Hardware Fallen or blown Kearney fuse detector — DET-FK

A fallen or blown Kearney fuse on an overhead line can go unnoticed until the next crew patrol. This detector clamps directly onto the cutout with a hot-stick-operable clamp, and uses a built-in accelerometer to identify the position change and notify the control center — no LED needed, since the fuse drop itself is already visible.

  • Three ways to connect

RF to your Telemetry RTU for MV substations, NB-IoT direct to the DNP3.0 Software Gateway, or Sigfox/LoRa on request: it adapts to the coverage and infrastructure you already have.

  • No extra parts to fail

No LED or local indication electronics needed: the accelerometer detects the drop, and the cutout's position is already obvious on the pole.

  • Installs on a live line

Hot-stick-operable clamp, directly on the fuse, with no service outage.

  • Years of maintenance-free operation

D-size lithium battery with up to 5 years of autonomy, across a -40°C to +85°C range.

01Technical specifications

Technical specifications

  • Detection

    • Built-in multi-axis accelerometer to detect the cutout falling to the inverted position

02Main applications

Main applications

  • Locating fallen or blown Kearney fuses on MV overhead lines
  • Reducing crew patrol time after a fault
  • Overhead distribution networks with multiple fuse-protected branches
  • Integration with existing Telemetry RTUs for MV substations over RF
  • Direct integration with the DNP3.0 Software Gateway over NB-IoT, with no intermediate RTU
  • Networks with Sigfox or LoRa coverage, via a dedicated gateway
